Wedding in the works

I had a great weekend home with my family spent some fun family time, with Elena for her graduation. It was also a productive trip because I finished most of my invitations just a few more to go and I'm set a big thanks to my little flower girl who insisted on helping me, so I put her to work licking envelopes she was so excited to help out. Sorry if you are a germaphob but I couldn't resist letting her help.

Congrats to the Grad!!!

My sister is graduating today so proud of her!!!! So excited to spend some much needed family time with her and our fam!

So the location for our Ceremony is actually a very special story.

When Tim and I started dating I decided to show him one of my favorite places that I would go when I lived on campus at Point Loma Nazarene University, the Alumni house. This place was very special to me I would go there so many times when I was in school it was just a peaceful beautiful place.

The first time I took Tim there, there was a couple guys setting up chairs for a wedding ceremony, I had always known I would want to get married there but Tim got so stoked he loved it right away, which made me think he would maybe be the guy.

Many months later Tim had a special surprise set up for me he told me he wanted to take me somewhere special, when he took me to the Alumni house I was a little confused I told him Tim this isn't really a surprise I am the one that brought you here, he laughed and said just come on. We went and sat down under the big tree on the little wooden bench overlooking the ocean and then Tim said the reason I brought you here is because I wanted to tell you that the last time we came here there were people setting up for the wedding, and I want you to know that someday I want to marry you here, I LOVE YOU Melina and I can see myself marrying you someday. I remember saying I love you in return like it was just so natural. I knew he was the man for me and I loved him so much and it was the best feeling ever to say it to him in return.

So on July 9, 2011 all of you lovely friends and family will be there to witness us return to that special spot where we first said I love you, and watch as we commit to loving each other for the rest of our lives.

Tiny Wedding Party

This post is about our flower girl and ring bearer. There will be more to come on our wedding party but I figured I'd start with the tiny people first. So I'll start with the flower girl since we all know ladies first.

EMMA

has been a big part of my life, my families life, and since I've been with Tim a big part of his life too! Since I went away to college my mom had been watching this little girl Emma in her daycare she came to our family when she was only 6 months old and my parents fell in love with her and her family instantly. My dad was so in love with this precious little bald baby girl she has been a huge part of our family joining us on camp trips, trips to Disneyland, visits to see me at college. What makes her such a special member of our wedding party is that when my family first set up a date to meet Tim they brought Emma along they jokingly said well if Emma approves than we will accept Tim haha it was just a joke but it was so funny that the first thing she said once they were leaving our lunch date after a nerve racking meet the parents date she said "I LIKE TIM". I think it was just confirmation of how my parents immediately felt about Tim when they met him too. Since then she has made her way into Tim's heart as well, she always says she misses Tim. She is so special to me and Tim it was an obvious choice for us when the decision of flower girl came!

BLAISE

So this ring bearer is something special as well not only has his family been close close friends with my family for as long as I can remember he is also a best friend of the flower girl. When I think of Blaise and Emma I laugh as I am reminded of a time when all of us overheard a phone conversation that happened between the two of them while we were camping. My mom had just recently called Kalani (Blaises dad) and put her phone on the table Emma picked it up and pressed send which made the phone call Kalani's phone again but this time Blaise picked up. They talked for about 15 min about the beach and camping and a few other things haha all of us were cracking up listening in on the conversation turns out Kalani and Jen didn't even know that Blaise had answered their phone. Both Emma and Blaise were around 3 years old it was hilarious so needless to say who better to walk down the aisle with Emma than her old pal Blaise. What we also thought that made Blaise the Obvious choice was how much he loved Tim those boys were pals from the start giving each other shakas everytime they see each other and playing on the beach in the sand Blaise was the perfect choice for our little ring bearer.

The Count Down and the Wedding Blog Begins

Ok friends and family spread the word, Tim and I are 63 days away from tying the knot! I am dedicating my blog to all news about our wedding. Tim and I decided instead of putting together a wedding website we would rather blog about everything you need to know about our wedding, in the next few weeks we will be posting information about the date, the time, the locations, registry information, places to stay, all the romantic fun stuff like where and how we met, our story, the story of our wedding party and etc. Stay tuned for the fun!
