"I'll try and be what he loves to call me, 'a little woman,' and not be rough and wild";

Today's post is about one of my favorite feminist works LITTLE WOMEN who does not love this story of four sisters who grow up together each one a dynamic character in Louisa May Alcott's novel. I can't help but love each of them Jo for her genuine and honest wild spirit. Marmie for her benevolent loving matronly character. Beth for her timid gentle spirit, Amy for her spoiled and selfish ways, that go without apology, and Meg for following her heart to her love. I don't know how any woman or girl can read this book and not fall in love with it. Every christmas my sister requests to watch the movie, the most current version, and I just recently watched a classic version staring Elizabeth Taylor as Amy and no matter which version it is I love this story. I feel like I can Identify with Jo, especially when reading this line.
"It's my dreadful temper! I try to cure it; I think I have, and then it breaks out worse than ever. Oh, Mother, what shall I do? What shall I do?"
-Louisa May Alcott, Little Women, Ch. 8

and then there is loving Marmie who is filled with such wisdom when it comes to raising 4 girls, I just hope some day I can be as good of a mother as this.

"Money is a needful and precious thing,--and, when well used, a noble thing,--but I never want you to think it is the first or only prize to strive for. I'd rather see you poor men's wives, if you were happy, beloved, contented, than queens on thrones, without self-respect and peace."
-Louisa May Alcott, Little Women

Are any of you fans of Little Women? Which character do you identify with?

If you have not read this book it's a must, or at least watch one of the movies!
